Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa's teaching emphasize that what we give and the attitude with which we give reveals more about our spiritual state than the hours we spend in prayer. Following Guru Maa's guiding principle, Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust organized a National Senior Citizens Day event on 21 August, 2013 at the Aadhar Old Age Home in Borivali East, Mumbai.
The initiative was part of a larger program by the trust which has been supporting the old age home through donations of cash and kind for over a decade now. The trust donated Rs 51,000 to the old age home that has been a beneficiary of the trust's 'Ann Daan', 'Vastra Daan', and 'Medical Support' programs. The trust also sponsors 'Bhajan Sandhyas' and 'Pilgrimage Yatras' for the senior citizens that includes a concert by Bhajan Samrat Padma Shree Anup Jalota. "Guru Maa tells us that the purpose of human life is to serve and it is through service to all beings that we serve God. Spirituality of the temple has translate into service to society for bhakti to have meaning. We are thankful to Mr Paraskar for helping us in our mission to serve God through our service to our guru," said Sanjeev Gupta of the Mamtamai Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust (Proposed).
It is always heartening when a top cop goes beyond the call of duty to participate and donate to a social service initiative. Mr. Sunil Paraskar, Additional Commissioner of Police, North Region, Mumbai, did just that on August 22, 2013 by gracing a Senior Citizens Day celebration at the Aadhar Old Age Home in Borivali (E).
Mr Paraskar was visibly moved by the graceful acceptance of their situation that the residents of the old age home displayed. "I am very happy and touched today. I've lost my mother years back, but, when I interacted with one of the resident, I felt like I'm talking to my mother. Aadhar old age home and Radhe Maa trust is doing an excellent work," he said. When Mr Paraskar was told that one resident's expenses came up to Rs 31,00 a month, he promptly wrote 12 cheques for the amount and donated them to Aadhar."I am very happy and touched today. I've lost my mother years back, but, when I interacted with one of the resident, I felt like I'm talking to my mother. Aadhar old age home and Radhe Maa trust is doing an excellent work," he said.
